A little bit about myself; I am married to Scott and we have two daughters Shantell and Marissa. I work in the Emergency Room at Logan Regional Hospital as a Registered Nurse. Scott, my husband, is a firefighter/ paramedic for the Idaho Falls Fire Department. I love anything that consists of me being outside like camping, hiking, playing in the water, and snowboarding with my family.
I was first introduced to Crossfit in February of 2011. I had injured my ankle back in August of 2010 and still needed some physical rehabilitation on my ankle to regain normal mobility. Scott and I decided to try Crossfit out. From the very first time I walked into Crossfit I felt welcome. It didn’t take me long to realize what an awesome Crossfit family we had here at Iota. Everyone, including members and coaches, are so supportive and willing to help each other succeed with their personal goals, whatever they may be.
As Daryl and I take over we are wanting to keep the same positive atmosphere that has been here since I started. We are very excited to be able to help who ever walks through ours doors with whatever goals they have. We would love to hear the things that are working well for the box and things that people would like to see change. We are very open to ideas that will allow us to succeed at making Iota the box that all members know it can be.

I’ve got so much on my mind right now I don’t really know where to begin. I guess the reason I’m still here is because Paul’s skinny butt beat me at pullups on my first day. He has taught me so much over the years, not just about working out but how to be a part of and care for a community. He taught me how to coach and help myself and others improve. He believed in me early on and took me on as a coach and encouraged me to compete. Thanks Paul. I hope everyone will think about how much time and thought he has put into your own personal fitness journey and give him the appreciation he deserves. (I’ll get even for the picture some other time).
As far as our community goes I feel kind of an overwhelming responsibility to you. I want to help everyone achieve their goals. I have always enjoyed coaching and now I’ll be doing more classes and getting to know more of you and for that I’m excited. Where Missy and I are both new to this I hope you’ll all be a little patient with us. There are changes we want to make in order for Iota to be a better home for everyone and we are definitely open to suggestions so please call, text, or email any thoughts.
One of the first changes/challenges I want us to all do is to think about why you go to Iota, what are you there for and what do you expect to get out of it. I want goals to be set. Whether they be fitness goals or not. To have a strong community we need to build one another up and challenge each other to commit and work hard to achieve our goals. Thanks for all those who have supported us in this new endeavor.
